Legacy Youth Leadership wanted donors and sponsors to see mentorship turning a student’s idea into action, and to encourage investment in more leadership opportunities. Leslie’s Mood Matters initiative made the value of that support tangible.
We built the film around Leslie’s perspective, with a mentor, an educator, and scenes in her school community showing the support behind her work. Rather than describing mentorship in the abstract, the story shows a young leader creating something of her own with guidance by her side.
Legacy Youth Leadership went on to use one of our videos at its 2026 Legacy Ball, where the organization raised more than $186,000.

I had a great experience working with the Visual Outlet Team! They were very communicative, professional, and easy to work with! The finished video assets that they produced turned out great! :)
Beauty Bus Foundation
Beauty Bus Foundation wanted donors, hospital partners, and beauty professionals to understand how a moment of care can stay with someone long after treatment. Sammi first experienced its free beauty services while undergoing cancer treatment as a teenager. Years later, she returned as a licensed esthetician and volunteer, making the lasting impact of that support visible.
We followed Sammi and her mother, Heather, as they volunteered at a hospital pop-up salon, pairing the service in action with Sammi’s account of what Beauty Bus meant to her. Alongside the main film, three focused short videos and a donor thank-you give the team different ways to invite supporters, partners, and beauty professionals into its mission.
Beauty Bus featured Sammi’s Impact Story at its 2026 Poker fundraiser, where the organization raised more than $210,000 in one night.

We absolutely loved working with Anthony and the Visual Outlet team. They brought a level of professionalism and understanding of nonprofits that made a huge difference for the projects they helped produce. Their team kept us on schedule as we navigated a busy production timeline, and ensured our story was communicated effectively. The caliber of their work and passion for quality storytelling thoroughly impressed us, and we would recommend Visual Outlet without hesitation to any organization looking for a trusted creative partner!

Before we begin
An Impact Story is a documentary video centered on someone whose experience brings your organization’s work to life. It shows what changed for that person and helps viewers understand the difference your work makes.
No. Impact Stories can also support program recruitment, corporate partnerships, foundation outreach, volunteer recruitment, and more. We’ll identify which audiences and relationships matter most to your organization right now, then shape a story that speaks to them.
You can share them at events, in outreach to prospective partners, on your website, across social media, and in direct conversations. We’ll talk about where you plan to use the videos early in the process so they’re made with those settings in mind.
Your organization owns the completed video. Visual Outlet does not place an expiration date on its use or charge recurring usage fees. You can share it on your website, in email and social media, at events, and in fundraising and partner outreach. You can also use the included raw footage to create future content.
We’ve designed the process to be light on your team’s time. We’ll need your perspective during story development, help coordinating with the people involved, and feedback at a few key points. We handle the planning, filming, and editing.
We guide them through a conversation rather than asking them to memorize a script. They can speak in their own words, and we’ll take the time to understand their experience.
Before filming, we talk with your team about the context and any boundaries we should understand. During the interview, people can share their experiences in their own words and choose not to answer a question. We don’t treat hardship as the whole story; we want the finished video to reflect the person’s perspective, strengths, and humanity.
Most projects take about two to three months from story discovery through final delivery. We’ll establish a schedule with you before work begins.
That depends on the package you select. You’ll receive either one Impact Story, an Impact Story with three custom short videos and a donor thank-you video, or a collection of three Impact Stories. Every package also includes organized, professionally color-graded raw footage. Compare packages and pricing.
They are three additional videos (1 minute each), each shaped for a specific audience and call to action. One might highlight a participant’s perspective while another speaks to a partner or supporter. The package also includes a separate 30-second donor thank-you video.
Yes. Every project includes organized, color-graded raw footage. You’re welcome to use it to create or release additional content later, or bring us back to develop something new from it.
Yes. We’ve worked with organizations with annual budgets around $300,000 and organizations with budgets around $300 million. A lean team and a large institution have different needs, so we adapt our planning, communication, and review process to fit how each team works.
